Scartabellando fra varie documentazioni di lavoro di mio padre... cosa molto vecchia.. Brochure e quant'altro della sua passata attività... ho trovato un altro documento "Made in Saab".

Interessante vero? Altro che brindisi col gasolio... slogan d'effetto, che identificano il marchio dal punto di vista tecnico.. pista di decollo sullo sfondo, una descrizione che valorizza le caratteristiche dell'auto... ahhh.. quanto amo le pubblicità del passato anzichè quelle da "fenomeni del marketing" di oggi.. Hai un buon prodotto con dei buoni contenuti?? Perchè non farli conoscere????

venendo all'auto... che bella.. è dell'85 ? La brochure non si di quando sia esattamente, ma sicuramente è post 84 (perchè cita un evento che organizzò mio padre nell'84 come referenza) è più recente di quella di Draken (83-84?) visto che parla di motore Turbo 16 valvole con Intercooler da 175cv. Questo colore inoltre, perlato non l'avevo mai visto prima ! Con Kit aero in tinta oltretutto !

In 1984, Saab introduced a high performance model known in Europe as the Aero. In North America, the model designation became SPG (Sports PackaGe but bizarrely called Special Performance Group) due to a model and trademark conflict with GM. The Aero/SPG was the first Saab to be delivered with the 160 bhp (119 kW; 162 PS) 16-valve turbo motor. The concept Aero/SPG vehicles were met with huge acceptance by the motoring community. These prototypes were painted a striking mother of pearl white and had red leather interiors with matching red dashboards. Unfortunately, in testing, the pearlescent white was found to be too difficult to repair in terms of color m, and offered to the public for sale. Only a handful of these prototype Aero/SPGs were manufactured and are considered quite rare by collector standards. In 1985, the first year of consumer production, the Aero/SPG was delivered in black and in silver (in markets other than USA). In Australia the 1985 silver models had a dark red interior, including full red leather. In the US the black cars were featured with tan leather interiors. In Canada and in the rest of the world, the cars were black with red leather interiors. 1985 was the only year of the Aero/SPG when a color other than dark grey was available on the SPG in North America. Production of the SPG was extremely limited and paint color availability varied by year. The final year of production was 1991 in the USA. In total, over the course of six years, just over 7,000 SPGs were built and imported to North America. In the rest of the world, Aeros were equally rare—especially those loaded with leather interiors, A/C and other luxuries considered standard by upscale North American consumers. The SPG is fondly regarded by car collectors and Saab enthusiasts.

Quella nella foto è la versione SPG (Aero) dove venne introdotto x la prima volta il motore turbo 16v 175cv (160 per le export cat) presentata a fine 83 come prototipo e realizzata mi pare solo in preserie nel 84 . Presumibilmente hanno riutilizzato per l'occasione tale foto anche se in realtà nell'85 quella finitura perlata non era disponibile a catalogo ma sulle Aero nostrane solo nelle colorazioni solite (nero con interno beige e argento con interno bordeaux).

A dimenticavo: sappiamo bene che in realtà le versioni MY84 non hanno 175cv......

in Europa si, in USA si chiamano SPG

WOW!!! una '84 Aero "argento perlescente" (traduzione letterale...): interni e cruscotto rossi e fascioni in tinta...
Avete notato una cosa? "L'autotelaio è rinforzato anche con robuste barre di torsione anteriori e posteriori...": forse intendevano barre antirollio... che in effetti sono delle barre che lavorano a torsione, ma non le avevo mai viste chiamare così.
